Spider-Man star Tom Holland has mastered the American accent, but there's one major word he can't get right even after four web-slinging movies.
The British actor struggles to convincingly say Spider-Man in a US accent and to this day has to think about it, despite actually becoming Spider-man. Holland spilled: "Ironically, the word that I struggle to say the most is Spider-Man. It's so weird. I really found Spider-Man a difficult word to say for some reason."
Many American's don't even realise that Tom is British: "I do still get that, actually. I'm getting recognised on the street and people are like, uh, what is going on with your accent, dude?"
When Holland first landed the role of Spidey he found himself doing a totally wrong US accent, heading down South rather than New York.
He quipped: "I would want to say, 'y'all, I'm Spider-Man'. I don't know. For some reason I really found Spider-Man a difficult word to say."
Nevertheless Tom loves doing a US accent and finds it a great way of helping him get into character.
"Weirdly feels more comfortable for me as an actor," he said. "It just feels like there's an immediate degree of separation from who I am as a person. And, you know, doing different American accents is difficult, you know."
Holland also stars in Christopher Nolan's new epic but got the tone a little wrong for that one too.
He laughed in thick NYC accent: "On the Odyssey, I think there was a few times where I went full like New York Queens, like 'Odysseus, you're home. How are you?'."
Holland loves acting but has always struggled with scripts which is why he has never hosted major US TV show Saturday Night Live: "I'm heavily dyslexic. Which is one of the reasons why I've never done SNL. Because I'm just so petrified at the concept of, like, trying to read something.
"I can read fine. But when I have to read out loud, it just becomes like a kind of... It's like a mental block and I can freeze. So for me, my worst day at work is the read-through. Like, at the read-through."
