Legendary rockers Aerosmith could yet make a comeback, despite retiring from touring.

Guitarist Joe Perry is hoping believes there is still a future for the band who officially retired from touring due to frontman Steven Tyler's failure to recover from a 2023 vocal cord injury. The Walk This Way band cancelled their Peace Out farewell tour, stating that a full recovery from the injurywhich included a fractured larynxis not possible. However, things have been improving for Tyler and now Perry has given fans an update.

The band is still kind of definitely not in touring mode, but there are certainly other options, so we stay in touch, he spilled referring to my brother from another mother AKA Tyler.

The duo recently recorded an Aerosmith EP with YungBlud, One More Time, which hit No1 in the UK and Tyler has begun making a few singing appearances, including last summers Back to the Beginning farewell concert for Black Sabbath and the late Ozzy Osbourne.

Now Perry have teased the possibility of bigger shows: You just never know.

Its just been in the last six months that Stevens started to get comfortable with singing; he literally had to take a year off before he was able to start stretching his vocal cords, and youre always worried about re-injuring it. I learned a long time ago that everything we do is fragile so we just take it day by day.

"You hope for the best. You just have to have the confidence and have that vision of positive in front of you. You cant do it unless you envision it.

In the meantime Perry and Tyler reteamed to remaster the band's self-titled debut LP in a Legendary Edition format, out now, and featuring a 1973 show at Bostons Paul Mall.

Perry told Billboard: I was like, Do we need to do this?' Because wed put out remastered (versions of the album) before, and I never really noticed all that much difference. But this was different; going in and actually getting to listen to the multi-tracks... it opens it up.

We never liked the way the drums sounded on that first album. Now its like, Holy s**t, this is what it sounded like when we were first recording. So I think its definitely worth it. And the old one isnt going anywhere. Its still there.

Any hopes of more Aerosmith gigs will have to wait until next year as Perry is about to hit the road again with his pals Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Tommy Henriksen as the Hollywood Vampires. Their tour kicks off Aug 12 in London, with 18 more UKand European shows to follow.

Perry said: Its been awhile since we last toured (2023), so I think that the sets going to be maybe two-thirds some of the same songs we played last time, and some new ones.

Its more about the vibe, and to just get a kick out of playing together. Im just hoping we can get a run in the States after this European one.

So thats really whats on the board for me. I know nothings going to happen between now and the Vampires tour, but I know next year is wide open, so well see.
