Ariana Grande has been given a huge London welcome as she kicked off the UK leg of her Eternal Sunshine Tour after revealing she plans to step back from the spotlight.
The pop superstar, 33, took to the stage at The O2 for the first of her ten sold-out London shows, marking her first UK concerts in seven years.
And Ariana was given a heros welcome as thousands of devoted fans packed into the venue to see her return for what may be the last time for a while.
Outside, the Arianators went all out in her honour, with fans arriving in bunny ears, glitter, masks, gloves and racy fishnet tights as they channelled the singers iconic looks.
Inside, Ariana dazzled in a string of dramatic costumes as she performed a career-spanning set packed with hits including 7 Rings, Thank U, Next, Dangerous Woman, Into You and One Last Time, alongside tracks from her latest album Petal.
But the emotional return comes as Ariana prepares to take a step back from public life once the residency ends.
The star recently announced she would be taking a break from public-facing work, with her representative citing endless, ongoing public scrutiny.
Speaking to fans during the tour, Ariana said the decision had come from a thoughtful and empowered place and was not a reactive or impulsive thing.
The singer has also faced a barrage of comments about her appearance, with her notably petite frame becoming the subject of intense online discussion.
But there was plenty of joy during her London comeback, particularly when her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo made a surprise appearance on stage during the second night.
The pair performed For Good before launching into a Get Happy/Happy Days Are Here Again medley, sending the crowd wild.
And Cynthia, 39, shared an emotional tribute to Ariana after the show taking to Instagram to thank her for allowing her to share the stage
She wrote: "Ari, my sweet sister, my favorite person to sing with. Thank you for inviting me to share your stage, singing 2 songs that represent such a massive part of our lives.
"This is what we do it for, for the love of the work and for all of the fans. I missed this. We missed this.
"And I wish I had more words, but to put it simply, I will never forget this night. Like a handprint on my heart."
The popstar sweetly replied with: "Itll always come back to this just as it started. im so grateful for this moment & for you love you always."
