More than a popstar, Harry Styles is ringmaster, cult leader, yogi and spiritual guide all rolled into one pretty face.
Your job is to have fun as much as you possibly can, he urges at the start of his massive Wembley Stadium run. "Be free to be whoever you want to be tonight."
A bonafide phenomenon yes Harry's talented, but he's been elevated to celestial status thanks to a communal ideal. Liking him became a bit like Chinese Whispers, everybody adding a little something into the mix to create a fantasy thats impossible for to fulfill when confronted with the real thing.
Harry kind of knows this so rather than attempt to out-dance or out-spectacle headliner rivals, he cleverly focuses on the fans.
Together Together is a celebration of that, an idea where people share their experiences and his music is just the backdrop.
This becomes apparent as you enter Wembley and witness the camaraderie between total strangers who have queued up over night. During his rendition off Fine Line groups of fans on the floor were holding hands to form mass circles, inviting others to perform solo dances in the middle. It was oddly intimate despite the 80,000 strong crowd.
On stage Harry reiterates this idea, pockets of fans are able to see him up close thanks to the criss-crossing stage design. Modestly he tells fans: "I hope you take a moment to feel what it feels to make this energy, this thing you make is so much bigger than me.
A tasteful tribute to David Hockney on the screens before Aperture ties in with his own philosophy when he quoted the late artist: "You wouldn't be an artist unless you wanted to share experience.
For his part Harry brought plenty of energy, running non stop across three undulating catwalks that stretch the full length of Wembley's floor, offering winks and thumbs up rather than slick choreographed moves.
And he takes time to answer the most pressing questions from fans too including - what's your favourite egg? "Fried".
The new material is intended to manifest the communal feeling, trance like sprawling electronic symphonies, interspersed with elements from club classics like Born Slippy.
Some of the melodies might be lacking when presented alongside past pop greats such as Golden and As It Was. But the soaring ballads, laced with chamber strings, are the real highlight of a show that is loud and immersive without too many obtrusive bells or whistles.
And although hes now breaking attendance records at Wembley he wasnt too proud to recall his humble beginnings just outside the stadium, auditioning for X factor 16 years ago at its sister arena next door, "thanks to my sister for taking me".
Yes he's swoon-some with some jolly nice songs, but better than that Harry knows how to give his fans a good time.
