Jamie Laing has thrown his hat into the ring to host the BRIT Awards 2027 after Jack Whitehall returned for the sixth time on Saturday night. The presenter and podcaster has admitted his ultimate goal is to host the Oscars and presenting the UK ceremony would bring him one step closer to reaching fame across the pond.

Asked if he would be up for taking over Jack's job at the BRITs, Jamie told the Daily Star: "Are you kidding me? It's the greatest thing ever!

"I have something called a BHAG - A Big Hairy Audacious Goal, something I have dreamed towards is to host the Oscars and so let's freaking go!

Jamie's comments come after Jack admitted that he finds hosting the BRIT Awards "terrifying" and that he's relieved when it's over each year.

Speaking on The One Show, the 37-year-old comedian said: "It is terrifying, it's live television, it's 3 hours, it is such a rowdy crowd as well.

"You never what is going to happen, you plan for everything but there is always mishaps and technical malfunctions and people that don't want to play ball.

"So, yeah it's a genuine roller-coaster and at the end of it I breathe a sigh of relief."

Jamie, 37, and wife Sophie Habboo, 31, have previously hosted the BRITs red carpet, interviewing a host of A-listers but this year they were guests and spoke about becoming parents to baby boy Ziggy in December.

Sophie gushed: "He's now smiling and laughing and so he looks at me and smiles and I am like, 'Ah! You make my world go round', it's just the best."

Jamie added: "It's the coolest thing ever I have a little baby that you love more than anything, it is the best thing ever, the best thing ever!"

Asked if there's anyone else that Jamie would like to see host the annual ceremony, he said: "Someone I would like to see do it next would be Stormzy, someone like that, I don't know."
