A student burned his sex doll girlfriend and sparked a huge campus fire in a panic after his university roommate unexpectedly returned home early.
Students at Hefei University of Technology in Anhui province, central China, were shocked to see their dormitory engulfed in flames after another student set his inflatable doll on fire.
A male student, whose personal information has not been disclosed, was using an inflatable doll in his university room when his roommate returned home. In an embarrassed panic, the student took his doll "girlfriend" into the dorm hallway and attempted to set fire to it, according to Chinese media outlet Owl Video.
One online observer said: What was supposed to be known only by his roommate is now known by the whole internet.
However, the fire quickly became out of control and spread, triggering the campus fire alarm.
In footage of the incident, the hallway appears filled with flames and smoke.
The fire department arrived quickly and put out the flames with zero casualties, except the sex doll girlfriend.
The incident stunned social media, with people pitying the embarrassed student.
Taking to local social media, one person wrote: You can fall out of love, but please do not hurt anyone. In the end, it was the inflatable doll that suffered all the damage.
Some even questioned his thinking since he was at a technology university. They wrote: Is this something a college student would do? I do not understand how his brain works. Not only does burning plastic produce a pungent odour, it is also difficult to be disposed of.
It sticks to the ground and releases harmful gases. Does he not know this as a technology university student?
A staff member from the university said: The inflatable doll was burned in the dormitory hallway. The security guard immediately contacted the fire department, and the situation has been handled.
There were no property losses or casualties, and we have already communicated with the student involved.
The university even put out a statement to all students saying they should not use naked flames with silicone items.
The announcement said: Please do not use open flames to handle silicone items or other flammable materials in the building. Items that are no longer needed can be disposed of in the rubbish bin.
The student has been reprimanded for his actions.
