Ann Widdecombe once made a haunting revelation about her own mortality on the Graham Norton Show - which in light of her murder appears deeply unsettling.
The Strictly Come Dancing favourite was discovered dead at her Dartmoor residence on July 9, aged 78. A 28-year-old man has now been detained on suspicion of murder, with police now treating the alleged killing as terror related after new information and evidence has come to light.
Fans have now dug up one of Ann's television appearances prior to her alleged murder, during which she made several statements that shed light on her attitudes towards death. She featured on the chat show back in 2010 - 16 years before she passed away and the same year she gained fame for her memorable Strictly performances, as per the Express.
During the programme, Ann remarked: "None of us know how long we're going to live, and I could die tomorrow. But I could, if I followed my mother, for example, live another three decades. I do not know what's going to come up and what I'm going to do in that time. So I may be remembered neither for politics nor for Strictly, but for something else that I can't even foresee at the moment".
"We get one go this side of eternity, one go. It's not a dress rehearsal. It's one go. You make the most of it and you take opportunities that come along that you like, and you go for it. That's my philosophy." The audience responded with applause, while Graham praised her saying it was "well said".
Anton Du Beke, Ann's partner on Strictly, has honoured the former MP, sharing on X that her passing was "the saddest of news".
The dancer, who was writing before the murder probe was launched into the death, said: "I had the most brilliant time with Ann on Strictly Come Dancing, she became a real friend, she was fun, she was upbeat, she was positive, she was supportive, she was game, wanted to enter into the spirit of the whole thing."
Ann Widdecombe's death was met with an outpouring of condolences, including from leaders across the political aisle.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer wrote that Widdecombe was a "distinguished politician" calling her death as a "significant loss".
He called on people to "rise above any political differences", adding that his thoughts are with her friends and family "at this awful time".
