Emergency services swarm luxury 5-star UK hotel after 'paraglider crash'

A huge rescue operation has taken place at luxury hotel after reports of a paraglider colliding with a luxury hotel building in Northern Ireland after eyewitnesses claim he was 'badly injured'

Emergency services have raced to a luxury hotel after reports of a 'paraglider' crashing into the building this afternoon (December 28).

Footage of the incident has been circulating online as person on a suspected powered paraglider is seen colliding with a building at the Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland.

Speaking to Belfast Live, one eyewitness claims they saw the male paraglider looked to be aiming to attempt a landing on a helipad before hitting the hotel roof.

The witness went on to say that emergency services had been trying to get him to safety for 'over two hours'.

The paraglider has reportedly been 'badly injured' as a result of the collision on the hotel grounds.

Lough Erne Resort have issued a statement following the incident

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service were seen at the hotel as they worked to try and rescue the paraglider from the roof of the hotel.

Lough Erne Resort have now confirmed the incident and informed guests that despite the presence of emergency services, the hotel is running as normal.

The statement read: "We can confirm that emergency services are in attendance as a result of an incident in which a person believed to be flying a paraglider was in collision with the hotel property.

"Apart from the immediate vicinity of the incident, the resort is operating normally and bookings are not affected.

"Until the emergency services have completed their work, access to the resort will be restricted to resort guests and patrons of our restaurants."

There has been no further update from the emergency services on the condition of the man.
