Harry and Meghan bring Lilibet for secret meeting with King in second ever meeting

King Charles II has been reunited with his grandchildren after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited the head of state at his country home, the Daily Star understands.

It is believed that this is only the second time that King Charles and "Queen Camilla has met his granddaughter, Princess Lilibet, in what palace sources have reportedly described as a "private family occasion".

King Charles reportedly welcomed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as well as their children to his Highgrove residence during the afternoon after what has been days of speculation over whether the high profile family meeting would take place.

Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, last saw their grandfather in person during Queen Elizabeth IIs Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.

According to the BBC, sources close to both Prince Harry and King Charles say both were keen to reunite, and especially for the meeting to include the two young grandchildren.

Sources said father and son wanted to meet this week and the King was keen to make time to see his two young grandchildren.

It is understood that Queen Camilla who has a private home near to the Kings Gloucestershire property was also among the group.

Prince William was not in occasion and was instead attending a polo match, with the brothers' relationship reportedly remaining frosty with the two having not spoken in some time.

The news comes after Prince Harry suffered a high-profile setback at the High Court, where his legal case against the Daily Mail was dismissed.

A High Court judge dismissed all claims brought by Prince Harry along with six others that the Daily Mail publisher used illegally gathered information to write several articles about am the fellow claimants.

A statement published by Prince Harry and fellow claimant Baroness Doreen Lawrence - the mother of Stephen Lawrence - described the ruling as a "complete and obvious whitewash".

It read: "We came to court seeking justice and accountability. But we have received neither."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were also the subject of a seemingly awkward mix up that saw their team wrongly announce that the couple had accepted an invitation to stay with the King at Buckingham Palace during their stay.

This announcement was met with a swift rejection from the Palace however, who said Prince Harry had already been told that he would not be allowed to stay there.
