Child killer Lucy Letby has received hundreds of Christmas cards from an army of fans wishing her seasons greetings, the Daily Star Sunday can reveal. Letby, 35, is serving a whole-life term inside HMP Bronzefield for killing seven babies while working as a nurse, and attempting to murder eight more.

Supporters of the convicted murderer have also sent her small gifts such as teddy bears, chocolates and perfume. Details of the support for Letby has been revealed in various social media support groups campaigning for her release.

A member of one group on Facebook revealed that Letby has been receiving so much mail which is all checked by prison staff that fans might have a better chance of getting a message of support to her via her solicitor. A message in one card read: Happy Christmas Lucy hopefully this will be your last.

Another person wrote: God bless Lucy and all who feel for her. Yet another year behind bars. Its a national disgrace.

But other members of one group criticised the sending of cards and told members that Letby was still a mass murderer. One person said: I think it is important to remember that those babies were breathing, feeling human beings just like the rest of us.

Lucy does not look like a murderer- society has fantasies about what they think murderers look like. The truth is, most of them look like the rest of us; they move amongst us in plain sight. Lucy is guilty. Thats why she is in jail.

There was also advice on how to write letters and Christmas cards to Letby and the information needed such as her prison number to ensure they were received. Despite being in a notorious womens jail housing some of the most dangerous female prisoners in the country, Letby is said to be a popular inmate with lots of support amongst her fellow cons.

Last week, we revealed that Letby and other killers inside the notorious, privately run jail in Surrey will be treated to a slap-up meal on Christmas Day. She will be offered a choice from a menu including: vegan mushroom wellington, vegetable wellington, halal chicken leg, a gammon and stuffing baguette or turkey with sausages wrapped in bacon.

All the mains come with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, parsnips, carrots, sprouts, stuffing and gravy. Afterwards, Letby can have a choice of Christmas Pudding, Yule log or ice cream.

All the meals are served by prison staff wearing Father Christmas hats. A spokesman for Sodexo, the company which runs HMP Bronzefield said they do not comment on individuals.

Lucy is now serving several life sentences after she was found guilty of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill another seven. However, she is continuing to appeal the decision, hoping that she will be acquitted of her crimes due to a lack of viable evidence.
