Coronation Street icon Tracy Shaw has shared an emotional life update on her battle with breast cancer as she prepares for the final rounds of chemotherapy.
The 53-year-old actress announced earlier this year she'd been diagnosed with the disease and had been undergoing chemo over the last several months.
Despite her battles with the condition the Corrie icon has thanked fans for their support and released a positive statement. She wrote on Instagram: "Grateful everyday for moments of Joy. Thankyou for every message of encouragement on this rollercoaster coaster of a journey.
"Living with the side effects daily can be tough, but together we share a life-changing experience to help others. I believe more in the spirit and soul, our flesh will recover... Our bodies are simply amazing.
"Thank you for lifting me on the days I struggle with being blasted with chemo , not looking forward to the last two rounds. More importantly I'm so grateful to have been given opportunity to live, learn, and grow into my authentic self. Happy weekend everyone."
Fans have been quick to respond to the heartfelt message. One fan wrote: "Stay strong beautiful soul positive vibes always." Another added: "Sending you all the love and light xxx".
A third stated: "You started this journey with such sadness and fear, you probably still are, but you are growing and living it each day and seem to be able to break the smiles. These journeys are long and arduous but somehow you find that strength to show you can still smile and enjoy some small moments.
"I think the wonderful summer is helping too, smile laugh cry scream but keep the wins and dreams. Breast cancer sisters are doing it for themselves, stay amazing."
Tracys message comes days after she told fans she felt "absolutely rubbish. After she underwent her latest round of chemo.
In a previous post on IG she peened: "Phew round 4 hit hard! Ive chose to show the moments of Joy I experience, hoping they bring light to those in the same position. Amidst this pain and suffering, Ive had to dig deep into the constant spiritual growth , to creation and its wonders.
"Knowing whats coming each cycle doesnt make it easier, but Im not panicking, definitely trusting the process, honestly, its agony, but keeping it in the day.
"Praying a lot for others. Grateful to have met others to share this journey with, life sisters. Feeling absolute rubbish at the moment but 'This too shall pass.'"
Since her departure from Corrie Tracy has mainly focused on theatre. The Coronation Street star also enjoyed a brief pop career featuring on a cover of the Lonnie Gordon track Happenin' All Over Again.
