WWE superstar John Cena is finally hanging up his boots in what promises to be an emotional, action-packed night fans will never forget.

It will mark the end of a glittering career for the 17-time world champion that has been going since 1999. Cena will headline Saturday Nights Main Event at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC on Saturday, December 13 this year.

Cena, 48, has called the bout his One Last Dance and sending shockwaves through the wrestling world with major speculation over who will share the ring with him one final time. Despite earlier whispers that Cenas farewell might take place in his beloved Boston, WWE made the shock decision to move it to the US capital.

Insiders are now hinting at a monumental send-off being planned behind the scenes.

The event, which will be streamed exclusively on Peacock, will close out Cenas 2025 Farewell Tour, which has already seen appearances at WrestleMania 41, Elimination Chamber and surprise returns on Raw and SmackDown.

WWE has remained tight-lipped over his final opponent, fuelling fan theories from all corners of the internet. Could it be a rematch with Roman Reigns?

A full-circle showdown with Randy Orton? Or perhaps an emotional torch-passing to rising stars like LA Knight or Bron Breakker?

Cena himself took to social media to confirm the date, writing simply: Final. Final. 12.13.25. One Last Dance.

Officials in Washington are already said to be gearing up for a huge weekend of festivities, with fan events, merchandise pop-ups and possible Hall of Fame announcements all on the cards.

The man who once told us You Cant See Me is now preparing to take his final bow and while Cenas in-ring days may be numbered, his legacy is all but immortal.

Cena, 48, recently revealed that his trademark taunt started off as a dare from his little brother.

He told him: "You won't do that on TV, that's stupid. It's stupid." He added: "So I did it and here I am looking stupid every day."

Speaking about Cena's farewell fight, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Triple H Levesque said: Johns contributions to WWE are immeasurable. There are no words that can truly relay how much he means to this business."
