Larry the Cat releases 18-word statement on Starmer chaos as he claims 'we can all agree'

The world's most famous cat has spent the last 24 hours making frequent appearances on live TV being let in and out of Downing Street while chaos surrounds him

He's seen many PMs come and go

The statement we've all been waiting for has arrived Larry the Cat has had his say on the debate of Keir Starmer's future. While his owner/house slave is embroiled in talks over whether or not he'll still be Prime Minister later today, Larry just wants feeding.

The world's most famous cat has spent the last 24 hours making frequent appearances on live TV being let in and out of Downing Street. And while the little furball enjoys the limelight, he also enjoys food . . . as his statement on the chaos shows.

Taking to social media site X, he said: Whether Starmer stays or goes we can all agree that me being fed is the most important thing.

He was seen on live TV a lot yesterday

The statement quickly went viral, being liked more than 20k times, and getting around 2.7k retweets, as one fan said: prime minsters come and go but Larry is for ever.

And a second wrote: Forgot this is the only Cabinet member with a positive approval rating.

A third, seemingly solving the leadership issue in one sentence, added: Give Larry the Title of Honorific Prime Minister. He is the most stable bureaucrat in English government and has 19yo of experience.

Larry, who is 19, has been at Downing Street since 2011 and has seen five Prime Ministers come and go and possibly a sixth.

He has outlived David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss (for a few days), Rishi Sunak and now Keir Starmer.

Through all the political turbulence and changing leadership, Larry has remained the one true constant at Number 10.

Despite his tenure, he was once slammed by then-slave/owner Boris Johnson who said: Larry, in my view, is a bit of a thug. I say this because our dog Dilyn went a few times to Larry's lair, and Larry being out at the time Dilyn decided entirely naturally and reasonably to eat his food. The reprisals were terrible.

If you look closely at Larry, you can see that he is constructed like a sumo wrestler. He also has the talons of a velociraptor, and he is one of those cats who not only likes his food but also takes a dim view of anyone else who tries to scoff it.
