A man was spotted sprinting up and down the tarmac of Heathrow Airport as staff pursued the man on foot while planes land in the background. Onlookers were left baffled by the bizarre scenes

Man runs across the tarmac at Heathrow Airport as staff chase him

A man was spotted sprinting across the tarmac at Heathrow Airport as a planes landed in the background leaving security staff to chase him up and down the airfield.

The man was seen being chased up and down Terminal 2 of the airport as staff struggled to catch him on foot. After evading capture from airport staff for around a minute, an airport van pulls up beside the running man as two men jump out to capture the runaway.

The running man is then later escorted away from the planes by the two men. In the video, the camera man becomes increasingly frustrated by the perplexing scenes unfolding in front of him. What is going on here? Why would there be people running? That geezer is running from someone, they are chasing him, he said.

What is going on? Isn't there anyone fit enough to take him down. They are going to have to stop the operations, they are going to have to stop aircraft moving, he is running straight towards them."

After the man had been successfully apprehended, the narrator asked himself: What the hell was that all about?

They are stopping aircraft taxiing as well.

If that was America there would be 50 vehicles there by now, 700 police. One bloke."

A Heathrow spokesperson told The Sun: Working with partners, we have quickly resolved an incident at the airport involving an individual who accessed the airfield taxiway. The individual has been removed from the airport.

The airport continues to operate as normal and passengers are travelling as planned." Video footage shared with the Star from Big Jet TV captures the bizarre turn of events.

The Daily Star previously reported on a brutal fight that broke out between angry airport customers and workers armed with wet floor signs in an airport terminal.

The footage shows violent slaps and punches between four men and one man is sent rolling across the ground by a man in a white shirt.

The chaotic scene erupted at Terminal 3 at the American Airlines ticketing area at Chicago International airport in Illinois, US, but as yet no one knows why they were all scrapping. Three men were attacking the man in a white shirt with one being pushed to the ground fairly early in the footage.

Another man dressed in black with fairly long dreadlocks and a final man dressed in blue also took on the fella in white. One of them wore what looked to be an ID badge and potentially worked at the airport.
