Prince Harry is reportedly "desperate" to spend as much time as possible with his father during his forthcoming UK visits, according to reports. Over recent years, the Duke of Sussex's relationship with his father, King Charles, has been somewhat turbulent, with only a few meetings taking place . . . and usually behind as many closed doors as possible.

However, their most recent reunion at Highgrove in July, which saw Harry joined by wife Meghan Markle and children, appears to have improved the state of affairs between father and son. It's now thought that the pair are on better terms, with more encounters anticipated during Harry's future UK trips.

It's suggested that this is something Harry is "desperate" for, with one source disclosing that he's pleased to have been invited to stay at Buckingham Palace during his next visit to Britain in September.

The source told RadarOnline.com: "Harry being welcomed in a formal capacity (to stay at the Palace) is a significant step. He's desperate to see Charles as much as he possibly can, and is very pleased he's being welcomed back."

"The royals are in the process of fine-tuning certain roles within The Firm. Harry is well aware of that, and he's making moves accordingly."

While Harry may have been invited to stay at Buckingham Palace next month, this does not alter his status as a working royal, reports the Express. The prince, 41, stepped down from his role as a working royal in 2020, alongside his wife Meghan Markle.

The pair subsequently relocated from the UK to California, purchasing a Montecito mansion during the Covid-19 pandemic. The couple continue to reside there with their two children Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five.

While Harry and Meghan are no longer working royals, they retain their titles of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Harry has made numerous trips back to his homeland over the past six years, while Meghan's visits have been far less regular. Prior to this July, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet hadn't set foot on British soil since 2022.

This was thought to stem from security worries, which frequently resulted in Harry making solo journeys to Britain.
