Prince Charles and Prince William have got closer says expert

Prince William and Prince Harry have split the Diana memorial fund between them for their individual charity interests.

The Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex are taking further measures to divide their working lives.

In an official statement, the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Sussex Royal Foundation announced the separation of the fund.

Prince Harry and wife, Meghan Markle, stepped back as senior members of the royal family earlier this year.

Last month the Duke of Sussex's Endeavour Fund split from under The Royal Foundation, and merged with Harry's charity sporting event the Invictus Games.

Kate and William will carry on with The Royal Foundation separately, which is currently focusing on supporting those on the frontline of responding to Covid-19 in the UK.

The Diana memorial fund has been used jointly used by the brothers to fund her legacy for years, however, the new move is the final step in dividing their working lives.

William and Harry took joint control of the foundation in 2013 in a bid to use its future income for good causes, reports The Telegraph.

From December 2019, accounts showed the funds would be divided between the brothers' charity ventures.

Since stepping back, the Sussexes shut down the Sussex Royal organisation and are now focusing on a separate charity called Archewell.

The Telegraph reports the Royal Foundation annual report states: On 18 December 2019, an agreement was signed with the Sussex Royal Foundation by which The Royal Foundation intended to grant half of the net future proceeds received by the Diana Fund to Sussex Royal.

In March 2020 The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they would no longer be operating Sussex Royal as their primary philanthropic vehicle in the UK and accordingly their share of the net income will instead be donated to another charity of The Duke of Sussex's choosing.

According to a spokesman for Harry, the money from his half will go to Sentebale, a charity set up in mother Diana's name to help children affacted by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana.
