Millions of Brits are relying on a blast of Queen before we've even finished our first cup of tea. The band's hit Don't Stop Me Now is the nation's favourite song to kick-start the day.
ABBA's Dancing Queen and Katrina and The Waves' Walking on Sunshine close behind in our ultimate top 20 feel-good morning playlist.
The rest of the top 20 chart is packed with songs guaranteed to lift the nation's mood. They include Mr Brightside by The Killers, Beautiful Day by U2, Lovely Day by Bill Withers, Wake Me Up by Avicii and Fleetwood Mac's Everywhere.
Music has become an essential part of Britain's morning routine, the Nutella study found. A huge 87% say playing a tune helps them and their family feel more energised at the start of the day.
And 58% use music to create a feel-good atmosphere around the breakfast table. Pop dominates Britain's breakfast soundtrack, chosen by more than half (53%), ahead of R&B (21%), club classics (18%) and indie (13%).
The new research comes as more than two thirds proudly describe themselves as morning people. Psychologists have long suggested upbeat music can stimulate the release of dopamine the brain's feel-good chemical helping improve mood, boost motivation and reduce stress.
This may explain why so many Brits instinctively reach for their favourite playlist before they've even checked their emails.
To celebrate the findings, DJ and producer DJ Spoony has temporarily become "DJ TeaSpoony" to launch Nutella's Summer Breakfast Club.
Mathieu Maggi, Marketing Director, Nutella UK & Ireland at Ferrero, added: "We're delighted to be partnering with DJ TeaSpoony. He's synonymous with feel-good music and bringing people together, making him the perfect choice to front our Summer Breakfast Club.
