Condiment king Hellmann's has been trolled online over its advertising campaign ahead of Euro 2024 later this month.
The brand, best known for its mayonnaise, is the "Official BBQ Partner" of the Championships, which will take place in Germany over the summer. What initially seemed like brilliant promotional material, however, has turned into a PR nightmare for the company following England boss Gareth Southgate's squad announcement on Thursday.
Manchester City ace Jack Grealish was arguably the most high-profile omission - and it's his face that's been used to promote Hellmann's. A snap of the beaming star clad in England white and clutching a bottle of mayo, has led to mockery on X (formerly Twitter).

"Awful day to be the Official barbecue Partner of UEFA Euro 2024," quipped an X user who shared the ad, which ironically bore the slogan, "Up your game".
Others couldn't resist taking a jab at the situation too, with one person joking: "Can't imagine how he [Grealish] must be feeling being cut. Must be Hell, man..." Another added: "This is actually a realistic interpretation of what Jack will be doing this summer."
A third wrote: "Considering Grealish ain't gonna be doing much else this summer it's actually pretty perfect." And a disgruntled football enthusiast lamented: "If Grealish upped his game he'd be in the squad. Pep [Guardiola] has ruined him, coached his quality out of him. Just an ok player now."
Others offered some marketing advice to Hellmann's, suggesting how the company could capitalise on the situation. "If they don't turn into the steer and have adverts of JG sat in his garden with the barbecue on and a slogan that says something like 'However you're enjoying the Euros, do it with Hellmann's' [it's a] trick missed IMO," one user opined.
Another chimed in: "They've got to surely do a new advert of a barbecue getting rained off. Leaving money on the table for that."
