Bryan Johnson has warned poor sleep makes people uglier the latest in his series of health-obsessions. Controversial biohacker Johnson, 48, has amassed a huge following on his mission to cheat death, chronicling everything from his bodily functions to bedroom habits in the quest for longevity.
His girlfriend, Kate Tolo, is increasingly becoming part of the spectacle, with him recently ranting about her period blood. Now hes turned his attention to the realm of sleep. Writing on X, Johnson said: Sleep makes you look better. Poor sleep makes you less attractive. The science on this is robust.
In response, someone wrote: Eating makes you less hungry. Not eating makes you more hungry. The science on this is robust.
Johnsons love of sleep is well-documented. Every day the tech entrepreneur attempts to get off to the land of nod by 8.30pm. He will then sleep blissfully alone until 5am, when he awakes to commence his formalised panic about death once again.
The biohacker recently asked his followers whether he should sleep in the same bed as his girlfriend Kate. At present, Johnsons lover is banished to a different part of the house so as not to interfere with his sleep scores. She must be an awful snorer.
Kate, 30, is reportedly undergoing a rigorous 100-day regime that monitors her menstrual cycle in extreme detail, accumulating a claimed 14 million data points. Her daily routine allegedly includes spitting into collection tubes, cheek swabbing, sleeping with an acrylic vaginal tracker, and even using a "techno-tampon" designed to extract deeper data.
Johnson asserts the tracking has already revealed diagnoses for Tolo, including polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome and adenomyosis. These are painful conditions associated with chronic, severe period pain.
He contends menstrual blood provides a direct "uterine blueprint", containing endometrial tissue, immune cells and stem cells. He further suggests freezing a 10mL sample could help them investigate the uterine environment without invasive surgical biopsies.
The billionaire notoriously declared his partner has a "top 1%" vagina after performing oral sex on her and posting the results online. He said Tolo's sample was "dominated by the single most protective bacterial species a vagina can host", the Daily Star previously reported.
