Elon Musk has made history by becoming the first person in the world to reach a net worth of $400billion (315bn), according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
The mind-bogglingly huge heap of cash is enough to buy Manchester United (valued at $6.55bn 5.1bn) 61 times over. If the dollar bills were laid end to end they would cover the equivalent distance from the earth to the moon 162 times. And, if laid flat, would be the same height as 207 Eiffel Towers. A large chunk of the Tesla owner's fortune has come since Donald Trump was elected, with his coffers topped up by a quarter since the victory.
The news comes hot on the heels of the first waxwork figure of the SpaceX CEO being unveiled at Madame Tussauds.

It also follows on from Musk being voted number 2 in the Daily Star's ultimate baddies of 2024, behind his president buddy.
A hefty $50billion boost arrived on Wednesday thanks to a share sale of the 53 year old's SpaceX.
Further fuelling this meteoric rise was a surge in Tesla's share price, which hit an all-time high of 334 ($424.9).
This perfect storm of events has allowed him to widen the gap between himself and other billionaires he has already outstripped, such as Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg and Larry Ellison, not to mention Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin.
Musk is set to sweep the board while co-heading President-elect Donald Trump's newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Investors in Tesla are banking on Musk's rapport with Trump, hoping that the billionaire's influence on the incoming Republican administration's policies could be a boon for the car manufacturer.
In other news, Musk's space venture is currently the most valuable private startup globally and has recently urged officials to greenlight an increase in its launch count to 120 per year by 2026, as reported by the LA Times.
Just a month ago, Musk's net worth soared past $300bn (236bn), setting the stage for a 33% surge within a month, following Trump's decisive victory over Kamala Harris.
Musk, who splashed out more than a quarter of a billion dollars to support Trump's election campaign, also owns social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, and tunnel construction firm The Boring Company.
