A former aide who previously worked for President Donald Trump has revealed his thoughts on whether he believes there is a contract between him and First Lady Melania Trump.

Speculation has been circulating about Melania's whereabouts with the First Lady appearing alongside Trump with decreasing frequency.

In recent years, allegations have emerged that there is an actual contract between Trump and his third wife. Trump wed Melania in January 2005 and together they have one son, Barron Trump.

Now, Anthony Scaramucci, who served briefly in 2017 as Trump's White House director of communications, has discussed whether he believes there is any validity to the rumours of an actual contract.

Speaking on the Daily Beast's The Daily Beast Podcast, he delivered his assessment on the matter, but included a crucial qualification, reports the Mirror US.

He said: "Reporters have suggested that, I've never seen a contract. Reporters have said there's a deal with them and that there's an understanding and she's accustomed to a certain lifestyle and he's making sure that she gets that lifestyle.

"If you're asking me point blank, 'Have I seen a contract between them?' I have not seen a contract."

He added: "If you're saying to me, as an observer in person in 2016 and 17 and even in the later part of 2015, do they act do they act like they're in a transactional contractual relationship?

"To my observation they do. I have not seen that prima facie though, so I'm just giving you my third party hearsay observation."

In addition to commenting on whether he believed there was a contract between Trump and Melania, he also shared his opinion on Melania herself, confessing he thought that she was more grounded than others might assume.

He said: "I thought Melania was very down to earth believe it or not. She's loyal and she's not going to break from Trump over the fact that he's an idiot, but I mean. It's prima facie that he's an idiot which is probably why they're not living together."

Anthony's remarks arrived just a few weeks after a senior adviser to Melania refuted suggestions she had vanished from public life.

Discussing the issue, Marc Beckman asserted Melania was "still very active" and currently engaged in a series of substantial projects.

In an interview with Newsmax in which he made the comment in relation to a reportedly project involving bringing children home from the Russia-Ukraine War, Marc said: "She still is very active and working directly with both governments."

He claimed that Melania was participating in efforts to help reunite families affected by the war and argued her efforts had not received sufficient press.

He stated: "No first lady in the history of the United States has done this level of humanitarian work. In fact, I think that we should, or somebody should be acknowledging there should be some level of recognition for the humanitarian work that she's done to date."
