Melania Trump 'missing' for 29 days as people question First Lady's latest absence

Melania Trump's last confirmed public appearance was at the FIFA World Cup final on 19 July 2026 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where she joined her family to watch the match. She since hasn't been since in public

Questions are mounting over the whereabouts of Melania Trump after the First Lady has failed to appear at a number of high-profile events over the last month. Her last confirmed public appearance was at the FIFA World Cup final on 19 July 2026 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where she joined her family to watch the match.

Since then, the 56-year-old has been nowhere to be seen, sitting out a string of notable occasions that many would have expected her to attend. These include Senator Lindsey Graham's funeral, a dignified transfer ceremony honouring fallen U.S. service members, and the rescheduled White House Correspondents' Dinner.

President Donald Trump has been spending the summer at his Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey, yet Melania hasn't been seen with him. Recent family photos from Bedminster posted by Lara Trump showed the President, Eric Trump, Lara, and their children, but Melania was conspicuously absent from the images.

A video making the rounds online from this past weekend shows Trump, 80, leaving Bedminster accompanied by American political aide Natalie Harp, with no sign of Melania.

One person uploaded the footage on X, stating: "Here's video of Donald Trump departing and leaving Bedminster with Natalie Harp by his side. Melania Trump was not there with him!"

The post has garnered significant attention, racking up over 23,000 views.

Melania's absence comes after she recently set the record for the lowest net approval rating of any modern First Lady in U.S. history.

Fresh national polling data shows that Melania Trump's net approval rating has plummeted to -12, sending her popularity plunging into unprecedented negative territory for a sitting First Lady.

To put her -12 rating into perspective, CNN data analyst Harry Enten highlighted that at this exact point in their husbands' second terms, her historical counterparts enjoyed considerably higher approval figures.

Laura Bush stood at +46, Michelle Obama at +42, and Hillary Clinton at +25.

This record-breaking collapse in public support directly aligns with a tracking report published by The Daily Beast, which discovered she has made public appearances on just 38 days throughout the first seven months of 2026.

An NBC News analysis established she has carried out roughly half the public engagements she had completed by this same point during Donald Trump's first term.

Additionally, she has delivered public remarks only 29 times during this second term - a strikingly low figure when compared against Jill Biden or Michelle Obama.
