Trump's explosive Iran bomb threat: everything we know
- Donald Trump has unleashed a foul-mouthed threat to bomb Iran's power plants and bridges in an explosive Truth Social rant.
- The US president declared "Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day" in Iran, adding: "Open the F******' Strait, you crazy b******, or you'll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH!" This follows his chilling 10-day ultimatum demanding Iran open the Hormuz Strait or face devastating consequences.
- Iran's General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi fired back, warning "The doors of hell will be opened to you" if the country's infrastructure is attacked. The general threatened all US military infrastructure in the region as Trump's deadline expires Monday.
- US special forces successfully rescued a downed F-15 pilot from Iranian territory on Sunday morning. Trump called it "one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in U.S. History," though the "highly respected Colonel" was seriously wounded.
- The rescue came amid escalating military tensions, with Iran shooting down two US aircraft including an A-10 attack plane. Iranian state TV claimed their forces downed additional American transport planes and helicopters during the rescue operation.
- The conflict has now entered its sixth week, with Trump previously claiming the US had "decimated" Iran and would finish the war "very fast."
