A UFO was blasted by a Hellfire missile travelling at almost 1,000mph - and kept on flying. The deadly bomb - designed to destroy military aircraft, helicopters, tanks, armoured personnel carriers and underground bunkers - bounced off the mystery craft and exploded.
Meanwhile the UFO swivelled round and carried on shooting across the sky apparently undamaged. Dramatic video footage of the attempted shoot-down by a US Air Force MQ-9 drone off the coast of Yemen in the Middle East was released at a new hearing into military close encounters with UFOs and UAPs or Unidentified Aerial Phenomena.
UFO investigator George Knapp speaking at the Congress said: Thats a Hellfire missile smacking into that UFO and just bouncing right off. And it kept going. What the hell is that?
There are servers where there is a whole bank of these kind of videos that Congress has not been allowed to see - that the public has not been allowed to see. Occasionally some of that stuff gets out in the wild. It should be going to you. The public should be seeing this stuff.
Congressman Eric Burlison said the footage was filmed by a military drone tracking an orb off the coast of Yemen. He said another drone launched a Hellfire missile directly at the UFO.
Im not going to explain it to you. Youll see exactly what it does, he told the spellbound hearing. You can still see it travelling.
Hellfire missiles are laser-guided 100lb precision weapons which have been deployed by the US and at least 16 other countries - including the UK - in countless military operations.
In 2009 the Ministry of Defence fired 40 in attacks on the Taliban in Afghanistan. They were used by the Israeli Air Force to kill Hamas leader Ahmed Yassin in 2004 and the US to take out Islamic cleric Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen in 2011, al-Qaeda operative Abu Yahya al-Libi in Pakistan the following year, al-Shabaab militant Mukhtar Abu Zubair in Somalia in 2014 and Brit Islamic State executioner Mohammed Jihadi John Emwazi in Syria in 2015.
They were also used to kill Iranian military chief Qasem Soleimani in 2020 and al-Qaeda terror warlord Ayman al-Zawahiri three years ago.
According to specialist website Military.com the missiles can be used to conduct precise and powerful strikes on tanks, structures, bunkers, and helicopters and can destroy any known tank in the world today.
US Air Force veteran Dylan Borland told the hearing in 2012 he saw a 100ft equilateral triangle take off from the base where he was working at 1.30am.
This craft interfered with my telephone, did not have any sound and the material it was made of appeared fluid or dynamic, he said. He said the craft was painted a black metallic colour with gold plasma at the top.
Borland described feeling static around his body and experiencing the smell of a thunderstorm. He said he had endured sustained reprisals for speaking out.
Alexandro Wiggins said on February 15 2023 while aboard the USS Jackson Navy ship off the coast of southern California he witnessed flying objects not consistent with conventional aircraft or drones.
He said he saw a self-luminous tic-tac-shaped object emerge from the ocean before linking up with three other similar objects. All four sped up and disappeared though they had no visible means of propulsion. Wiggins said he wants his observations investigated by specialists because of the potential safety issues that come from UAPs no matter their origin.
Declassification and transparency, where possible, were essential, he added. US Air Force veteran Jeffrey Nuccetelli said five UFO events occurred in Vandenberg, California, over two years which were each witnessed by multiple personnel.
On October 3 2003 he said Boeing contractors reported a massive glowing red square silently hovering above two missile defence sites.
Security guards on duty that night also reported the sighting with friends of his screaming it's coming right at us it's coming right for us, and now it's here.
Anna Luna, who chairs the Congress task force on the declassification of federal secrets, said the hearing was not about science fiction or speculation but national security, government accountability and the publics right to the truth. She said: We cannot maintain trust in government if we keep American people in the dark.
More than 30 senior figures, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, senators, former defense officials, intelligence leaders and national security experts have spoken publicly in recent months about undisclosed close encounters with military personnel. Rubio has told an upcoming documentary even presidents have been operating on a need-to-know basis.
