The wrestling world is once again in mourning after the sudden loss of an independent wrestler who collapsed during a live wrestling event and later passed away in hospital. Independent star Artist Artest was performing at a live Xtreme Valley Wrestling event in Ohio when he suddenly collapsed.

XVW broke the tragic news in a Facebook statement, saying: It is with great sadness that I have the duty to inform the fans of XVW that after collapsing tonight at XVW, and being rushed to the hospital Artist Artest has passed away.

We wish to send our condolences to his family, friends, and fans. Our staff worked tirelessly to keep him alive until the medics arrived. We will pause activities in remembrance of the life of Artest. Rest in peace champ.

The wrestler was carving out a name for himself in independent wrestling, training under names like Ace Austin, Jake Crist, and Sami Callihan. Known as The Jurassic Juggernaut, Steele, 39, died after suffering a heart attack during a match on Sunday afternoon, leaving fans traumatised.

A fan at the Brii Combination Wrestling event reportedly shouted "hes having a heart attack as the situation unfolded in front of the crowd. It took 45 minutes for an ambulance to arrive to the Madness at the Mecca event, being held at a community centre in Ridgefield Park, Ringside News reported.
