Docs baffled as bloke admits to shoving pingpong ball up himself for wild reason

The manager and family man from Moscow in Russia told medics that he wasn't 'acting foolishly' due to having too much time his hands - before then revealing why he did it

Doctors in Moscow were left gobsmacked after discovering a ping-pong ball lodged up a mans bum in what can only be described as a bizarre blunder gone wrong.

The X-rated incident unfolded on October 19 in a residential block in the Russian capital, when a 48-year-old manager ended up needing emergency surgery to remove the rogue ball from right up his backside. Medics say the family man admitted to inserting the object himself after knocking back one too many drinks.

He claimed he wasnt acting foolishly out of boredom but simply had a ping-pong ball nearby and, in a moment of drunken misjudgement, decided to experiment with it on himself.

Luckily for him, the surgeons were able to successfully remove the foreign object from the man, reports MKRU, who by now probably has a new-found appreciation for table tennis.

Elsewhere, a woman shockingly found a broken piece of thermometer was lodged in her backside for more than two decades.

The patient named only as Ms Hu, from Wuhan in China sat on the measuring instrument when she was a young girl in primary school.

After the 2cm-long piece was finally removed her doctor said she was lucky that no mercury was inside it.

Ms Hu explained: "My classmate also searched for it under the desk, but he happened to be holding a thermometer in his hand, which was resting on my chair. I found it before him so I went to sit down.

"The thermometer became stuck in the flesh of my left buttock. When they took it out [at hospital], it was much shorter. I started crying and said it shouldn't be like that."

She added: "They did another X-ray, but this time it didn't show anything because the glass was transparent, I guess it didn't show up on the scan at the time."

However, the object appeared in a 3D CT scan in August after Ms Hu suffered a cycling injury and was concerned about a sacral fracture.

When doctors observed the detailed image, they clearly saw the shape of the broken thermometer piece still lodged behind her pelvis after all these years.

Her doctor said: "It was about 2cm long. It was lucky there wasn't any mercury inside. If so, it could have caused mercury poisoning and other very dangerous conditions."
