Ibiza Final Boss new single reviewed by musician who dressed up as viral Geordie lad

Jack Kay otherwise known as the Ibiza Final Boss has released a song named after his online moniker, with fans lapping up its repetitive beats, but is it any good?

The Daily Star's own final boss Tom McGhie has run his ear over the new tune from the Ibiza Final Boss. Being a musician with bands of the calibre of Bag of Cans and The Mink under his belt, we thought Tom would be the perfect person to listen and review IFB's new chune. But is it any good?

After wowing the internet and Spanish clubbers with a haircut for the ages throughout August, 26-year-old Jack Kay has capitalised on the momentum and launched his music career. But, is the song actually any good?

Jacks debut single, obviously titled Ibiza Final Boss is two minutes of primitive club beats, over which Jacks Geordie voice can be heard murmuring things like my name is the Ibiza Final Boss and yer bird likes the Ibiza Final Boss.

There are all the hallmarks of a noughties club banger, including an amped up bass, upbeat tempo and a 4/4 time signature. Given Jack is a lad whose legend was birthed on the sticky floors of Ibizas best it makes sense that he knows the genre inside out.

The track starts with a repetitive hook, which doesnt leave for the rest of the song. Its a bit basic, the sort of thing anyone with a login to Band Lab might be able to achieve.

However, like all things Jack seems to go anywhere near, theres a certain naive charm to it with genuine foot-tapping going on.

By the time Jacks told you yer bird likes the Ibiza Final Boss for the umpteenth time, youre beginning to agree with him the same way you might agree with a strangers views on Bitcoin at about 4am in a random kitchen.

Yes, its predictable. No, it probably wont get a Grammy. But at the same time it really doesnt matter. You want Jack to succeed, like you would your friends weird kid to do well at school.

Its Brit Abroad Pop (BAP) and if that song comes on after dark at Ibizas Zero Six West club, it goes off.

His fans love it too. One person gushed on social media: "Man of the moment supplying the absolute sauce." Another raved: "Best Geordie vocal since Gazza did Fog On The Tyne!"

It comes as supporters eagerly anticipate Jack's forthcoming club tour, alongside his possible inclusion in the next series of Big Brother.

His nickname of 'Final Boss' stems from an online term which usually refers to the ultimate boss - or villain - that you have to conquer at the end of a level or game.
