A racy star has revealed the secret to her decade long success in the adult industry, attributing it to her business acumen. Formerly a PR and marketing professional, Alix Lynx decided that the humdrum 9-5 grind of working for others wasn't her cup of tea.

So, she swapped her office chair for a career in the spicy world. Her relentless work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and hunger for success have catapulted her earnings to tenfold her previous salary. "You have to treat it like a business, and you have to be professional, Alix said.

You have to show up every day for your fans and be extremely disciplined.

She added: "Once I got in the industry I would seek out information, and I would talk to people who were where I wanted to be... I would gather information from anybody and everybody that I could."

Alix revealed that her business-oriented mindset took root during her teenage years when she started selling her clothes on eBay at the tender age of 13.

She said: "But doing webcam work truly transformed me into a solopreneur.

I immediately approached this new career as not only a performer but a businesswoman and entrepreneur."

Alix went even further, and got stuck into the technical aspects of her online presence.

I learned how to code my own profile and create my own profile/tip menu, create and sell offers and bundles, produce my own amateur style scenes and create custom content to name a few," she said.

"I made social media accounts and became pretty active on those, always marketing myself daily.

Alix has only ever called in sick once, and continues to show up no matter what.

Id see girls cancel last minute or just no-show and say, I dont feel like it, Im tired. But I never wanted to be like that, she said.

Ive only ever called in sick once and I was actually, legitimately sick. At the end of the day, its a job. Youve got to show up. Youve got to do it, even if youre not in the mood. It doesnt matter no one cares. You perform. You go to your happy place.

"If I don't feel like doing customs, but they're scheduled and I have to do them, I don't care if I feel like it, I'm gonna force myself to do what I said I was gonna do."

Alix says her strong-willed demeanor has also helped her in the business, as she says you have to be the boss in all situations.

"You have to stick up for yourself, and you have to advocate for yourself and be okay with that, she said. Tell yourself I'm the boss and just be more assertive. I used to be really timid and shy before I got into the industry and now, Im a completely different person.

She continued: "It's a weird life that we live, because it really is you. You have to be very, very self-aware and thats an ongoing journey. Ive purposely sought that out. Ive been in therapy, Ive done a lot of work on myself, and now Im at a point where Im extremely self-aware.

"As a performer, you're kind of in this space where you are you but youre also an actress. So when I get a custom request, I have to put on my performer hat. Im not Jessica, the civilian Im Alix the adult star.

I have to look at things through a different lens. Im not judging, but I do have to think of it from a professional point of view, and honestly, that can be tricky sometimes. I think thats where a lot of younger girls run into trouble they feel like they have to say yes to everything, and they let people push them around because they dont know any better yet.
