Lost Isaac Newton letter eerily predicts end of the world and it's very soon

Sir Isaac Newton is widely regarded as one of the most influential scientists of all time, but he was also a deeply religious man who believed the end of the world would come in 2060

Sir Isaac was a legendary English mathematician, physicist and astronomer, widely regarded as one of the most influential scientists in history.

His groundbreaking work, "Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica," published in 1687, established the foundations for the laws of motion and universal gravitation, reportedly inspired by an apple tumbling from a tree.

Yet it appears Newton was equally connected to his spiritual beliefs as he was to his scientific pursuits.

Rediscovered documents, initially found in a chest at the Earl of Portsmouth's residence in 1969, show he believed the apocalypse would arrive precisely 1,260 years following the establishment of the Holy Roman Empire.

In correspondence from 1704, which was exhibited at Jerusalem's Hebrew University in 2007, Newton employs the Bible's Book of Daniel to work out when the world would end.

The document exposes a profoundly religious aspect to a figure typically viewed as a rigid rationalist.

He said in the writings that the Bible demonstrated the world would end in 2060, stating: "It may end later, but I see no reason for its ending sooner.

"This I mention not to assert when the time of the end shall be but to put a stop to the rash conjectures of fanciful men who are frequently predicting the time of the end.

"By doing so they bring the sacred prophesies into discredit as often as their predictions fail."

The precise passages from the Book of Daniel that sparked his forecast remain unclear. However, he pledges the end days would witness "the ruin of the wicked nations, the end of weeping and of all troubles, the return of the Jews (from) captivity and their setting up a flourishing and everlasting Kingdom."

Yemima Ben-Menahem, one of the curators of the exhibition, said in 2007: "These documents show a scientist guided by religious fervour, by a desire to see God's actions in the world."

Nevertheless, it appears Newton wasn't alone in his apocalyptic forecasts.

Don Carlos Barrios declared during Amazon Prime's "Decoding Baqtun" series that he had also worked out a fresh date for humanity's demise using the notorious Mayan calendar.

He said in 2016: "We have what the Abuelos saw thousands of years ago.

"The next cycle of 13 is a cycle related to the air element, this is a confirmation of these great cycles.

"In these times, from 2012 to 2016, there were complications (Natural disasters) and from 2026 onwards, even worse if we have not managed to stabilise ourselves.

"The next cycle of 13 is a cycle related to the air element and ether.

"Within 26 years, if humanity survives as such like now, there will be a special connection between all humans."
