The Daily Star: News with a Wink

'Time traveller' from year 5,000 has photo of future and it's very bad news

The man claims to have a picture of Los Angeles from thousands of years into the future

In online clips, a man identified solely as Edward clutches what he alleges is a photograph depicting Los Angeles completely flooded in years to come.

Our planet's atmosphere is heating up, which is consequently triggering climate change.

As these rising temperatures cause polar ice sheets at both extremes of the globe to thaw, ocean levels are steadily climbing.

Green activists worry that without restrictions on fossil fuels and contamination, major metropolitan areas worldwide could face catastrophic inundation.

The self-declared time voyager Edward insists he hails from tomorrow and possesses direct experience proving this isn't merely a caution but an inevitable destiny.

Sounding like something straight from a science fiction blockbuster, Edward outlandishly maintains he's a temporal traveller from the year 5,000.

Speaking to Apex TV, a YouTube platform dedicated to supernatural tales, he revealed he participated in a classified time-travel trial in 2004 and was dispatched 3,000 years ahead.

The man maintains he was astounded upon reaching the future.

He discovered he'd touched down in LA - California's entertainment capital in the US - but it lay beneath an enormous expanse of water.

The Daily Star noted Edward claimed he'd been working in an LA laboratory when he was allegedly tasked with journeying forward in time to capture images.

Throughout the footage, the man's features are obscured and his speech altered as he recounts his story, purportedly to safeguard his anonymity.

He said: "I will tell you a story that will amaze you and you will be astonished.

"I appeared at a 'place'. It was unbelievable.

"I was standing on a huge wooden platform. Not only me, houses, buildings, of course, all made from wood. And after, I realised it was the same city, Los Angeles, but underwater."

In other extraordinary claims, Edward also says he had talked to people living in Atlantis, an ancient myth concerning a submerged civilisation.

They told him the flood had happened because of climate change.

Time travel remains, despite conspiracy theories, an unproven achievement.

Many people have declared themselves to be time travellers or spread rumours about the whereabouts of vanished persons, yet nothing has ever been substantiated.

According to NASA, the type of time travel Edward alleges "only happens in books and movies".

The American space agency stated: "Although humans can't hop into a time machine and go back in time, we do know that clocks on aeroplanes and satellites travel at a different speed than those on Earth.

"We can't use a time machine to travel hundreds of years into the past or future.

"That kind of time travel only happens in books and movies.

"But the maths of time travel does affect the things we use every day, for example, GPS satellites."
