'Wild' unearthed Donald Trump Playboy interview from 90s leaves people gobsmacked

Inside, the piece is entitled, 'Playboy interview: Donald Trump, a candid conversation with the decade's most flamboyant billionaire on deal making, self-promotion, world affairs and how much is enough'

A bargain hunter has been left stunned after discovering Donald Trump's 'forgotten' Playboy cover whilst rummaging through a charity shop. The shopper posted a picture of the "unexpected find" on social media, describing his Q&A style interview as a "truly wild read".

Dated March 1990, the Playboy magazine features a Donald Trump interview alongside articles on 'Rock and racism', 'fax 'n' figures', 'cars 1990', and 'world-class playmates from our far-flung empire'. Photographed at age 43, the 45th and 47th President of the United States is pictured wearing a white shirt, black trousers, black bow tie and understated Playboy cufflinks.

He is positioned next to a woman with long brown hair gazing up at him with a beaming smile.

During a Q&A exploring his personal and private life, Playboy enquires: "What is marriage to you? Is it monogamous?"

Trump dismisses the question, responding: "I don't have to answer that. I never speak about my wife, which is one of the advantages of not being a politician. My marriage is and should be a personal thing."

Refusing to give up, Playboy continues by asking: "But you do enjoy flirtations?" Trump quipped: "I think any man enjoys flirtations, and if he said he didn't, he'd be lying or he'd be a politician trying to get the extra four votes .

"I think everybody likes knowing he's well responded to. Especially as you get into certain strata where there is an ego involved and a high level of success, it's important. People really like the idea what other people respond well to them."

In another part of the article, Trump unveils his "dream job", stating: "I've always thought the ultimate job for me would have been running MGM in the Thirties and Forties.

"There was incredible glamour and style that's gone now. And that's when you could control situations."

The customer then detailed how he purchased the magazine for $1.50 (1.12) - and has seen it listed online for around $100 (74.60) to $150 (111.90).

Reflecting on his charity shop discovery, one user shared: "I'm one of the cool collectors that found a guy at a local thrift store selling basically every issue of Playboy and I bought all the issues with Stephen King short stories in them.

"I'm not sure I'll ever open them (they are wrapped in a protective sleeve by the seller), but it's cool to have in my collection."

Another user chimed in: "I read some vintage Playboys at a tattoo parlour and was honestly so surprised at the articles.

"The topics and discussions were shockingly progressive. Kind of crazy how long we've been having the same conversations on the same issues."

A third user chimed in: "I would LOVE to connect Readers Digest from the 60s. Back in the 90s, we used to hang out at a coffee shop. They had stacks of old Reader's Digest on the tables to read. They are so interesting!".
