Today's picture of the day is of Donald Trump who uploaded an image of himself to the Truth Social platform, which is owned by the US President.
The image depicts the President hugging and kissing the American flag with the words 'Trump was right about everything', referring to the Israel-Iran ceasefire he brokered, which was broken shortly after the post.
The 79-year-old has since claimed both Israel and Iran "don't know what the f*** they're doing," as the Middle Eastern nations continue to trade airstrikes.
On Monday evening (June 23), the President touted via his social media platform that he had successfully brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Iran who had been at war for 12 days, with the United States also launching heavy bombardment missions against Iranian nuclear facilities on Saturday (June 21).
"CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in-progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!" Trump posted.
Several posts followed as Trump shared posts praising his efforts to secure peace for Israel and Iran, who the US had bombed days prior using 125 US military aircraft.
Shockingly, it appears Trump was in fact wrong. Just hours after the allegedly agreed ceasefire came into effect, Israel reported it had been struck by more Iranian missiles, to which Tel Aviv retaliated.
The country, pre-emptively launched airstrikes against Iran on June 12 after making the unsubstantiated claim that Tehran was close to creating a nuclear weapon.
Trump has lashed out against both regimes, reiterating his demands that they stop dropping bombs on each other.
A visibly red-cum-orange-faced Trump was quizzed by reporters on the White House lawn on his feelings about Iran's reported disregard for the ceasefire.
"They [Iran] violated it but Israel violated it too," he claimed.
"Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs, the likes of which I've never seen before. The biggest load that we've seen.
"I'm not happy with Israel, when I say 'Okay, you have 12 hours [until the ceasefire takes effect], you don't go out the next hour and just drop everything you have on them. So, I'm not happy with them.
"I'm not happy with Iran either, but I'm really unhappy if Israel are going out this morning because of one rocket that was shot, perhaps by mistake, that didn't land. I'm not happy about it."
The President then went on to declare: "We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard, that they don't know what the f*** they're doing, do you understand that?"
