Snoop Dogg explains why he's glad he was left off guest list for Tom Brady roast

Snoop Dogg was among the many A-list celebrities who took part in Netflix's The Roast of Tom Brady back in May, though the rap icon was not asked to take part in the comedy special

Snoop Dogg has spilled the beans that he wasn't tapped to join Netflix's "The Roast of Tom Brady," but the rap legend isn't exactly tossing and turning over the snub. Back in May, Brady found himself in the hot seat as a bunch of comedians, celebs and NFL big shots took their best shots at him in what turned out to be Netflix's top comedy hit for the first half of 2024.

The gloves were off as they laid into the former QB's private life, past cheating controversies and old teammates.

Despite the glittering lineup boasting megastars like Kim Kardashian, Will Ferrell, Rob Gronkowski, Kevin Hart and others, Snoop's absence was glaringly obvious. Chopping it up on the 'Let's Go' podcast recently, Snoop had a laugh with Brady about being left off the invite list for his Roast.

Instead of giving Brady a hard time for not hooking him up with a spot on the show, Snoop actually gave the 47 year old props for not dragging him into the mix. "Tom, thank you for not having me come to your roast because I didn't want to be a part of that ----," he quipped, setting off a wave of chuckles from the crew on the call.

"Thank you for leaving me out, man. No, some real ----. Normally I'd have been mad, like, how the --- you leave me out? But I was like, naw, thanks, Tom. Appreciate that.", reports the Mirror US.

Ex-New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick admitted that Tom Brady's roast might have ruffled a few feathers, despite its playful intent. "Water got a little rough there, Snoop, I'll tell ya," he remarked.

Snoop Dogg was quick to respond: "That's why I say thank you! Thank you for leaving me out of that ----. I was on the sideline watching like, 'Hey, man, I'm your real friend, me over here, see?'"

While the event was all in jest, not everyone was laughing. Gisele Bundchen, Brady's former missus, reportedly took offence after being the punchline too many times.

The late Aaron Hernandez was also a topic of some gags, which didn't sit well with his ex-fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins.

A few days post-roast, Brady expressed remorse on "The Pivot" podcast, especially about how it affected his kids. "I loved when the jokes were about me," said Brady.

"I thought they were so fun. I didn't like the way it affected my kids."

"So it's the hardest part; the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and all of a sudden you realize 'I wouldn't do that again' because of the way it affected, actually, the people I care about the most in the world."
