Vladimir Putin's 2026 calendar revealed as 'iron wing Vlad' goes 'full hunk'

The 2026 flip calendar, which features 12 photos of Russian despot Putin alongside 'striking and eye-catching quotes' has gone on sale for a bargain price and shows him in a variety of poses

Mad Vlad features in a new calendar

A hunky Vladimir Putin is seen in a judo outfit slamming an opponent to the mat in a martial arts match and cuddling a dog in the snow in a bizarre new calendar that has gone on sale in Russia.

Mad Vlad, 73, is quoted as saying "I'm a dove, but with very powerful iron wings" and "Russia's border doesn't end anywhere" alongside 12 photos of the Russian despot in a variety of flattering poses.

The pro-Kremlin propaganda, produced by Russian tabloid Komsomolskaya Pravda, contains images of how its creators want the nation's population to see their strongman leader, who has been president 2012.

Included in the bizarre propaganda piece are photos of Putin in huntsman's outfit, another with aviator-style sunglasses in arctic gear appearing to drive a snowmobile.

Some of the pictures included Putin petting one of his dogs against a snowy background, while another saw him surrounded by adoring members of the public and shaking hands. One even pictured him in a tuxedo and playing the piano.

It does not feature any pictures of Russia's war in Ukraine, known in the country as a "special military operation", but some of Putin's quotes seem to make reference to it and almost "justify his actions", BBC Moscow correspondent Steve Rosenberg said.

One reads: "I've done everything so that Russia is an independent and sovereign state that can take its own decisions." Elsewhere, Putin says: "I think Russia has become much stronger in the two to three years, because we're becoming a truly sovereign country."

Elsewhere in the calendar, Putin's response to the Beeb reporter's question about whether he had done what Boris Yeltsin had told to do and "taken care of Russia?" is featured.

His quote, which accompanies a stern-looking Putin in a suit, reads: "I've not only taken care of Russia, we've stepped back from the abyss."

Rosenberg said: "This is how the the calendar creators wants Russian to see Vladimir Putin as a strong leader, a 'father of the nation' type figure. Putin quotations feature muscle flexing."

The paper describes the 2026 flip calendar on its website as "featuring Russian President Vladimir Putin is enhanced with striking and eye-catching quotes." A calendar would set punters back a bargain 250 Russian Rubles, around 2.34.
