Woman's dismembered body found on Gran Canaria beach after 'going to a party' text

A Colombian woman had texted a friend to say she was going to party and was not seen alive after that her body was later found dismembered on a beach in Gran Canaria

A woman's dismembered body was shockingly found on a Canary Island beach. The corpse was identified as a 41-year-old Colombian woman which led to the arrest of the owner of a nearby popular bar.

According to The Sun, police think the person who killed her had first stabbed her in the neck before then trying to dismember her body. They also believe the woman was unconscious but bleeding to death while the attacker chopped her legs horrifically, part of her neck was also hacked off.

Officers hypothesised this was part of an attempt to dispose of her body in a container or bags before she was later left on a San Andres beach.

The bar where the owner was arrested has now been sealed off with police tape and an armed guard present.

A member of the public discovered the mutilated body while walking along the sand and reported it to police.

The Armed Forces' Homicide Unit was deployed to assist in the search for her killer which led to the arrest of the bar owner at his home in Las Torres yesterday (Tuesday).

The man is now due to appear in court soon as the case continues to be investigated.

A search was conducted at the bar owner's house and business premises police have not ruled out the possibility of further arrests.

According to police, the woman texted a friend to say she was going to a party and was not seen alive after it was sent.

Several officers in balaclavas took away a number of sealed plastic bags as they were seen collecting potential evidence as they looked to get to the bottom of the grisly crime.

Meanwhile, the remains of a man who was stabbed to death were found in a suitcase alongside an Arsenal FC towel at Clifton Suspension Bridge, a court has heard.
