Expats who move abroad will have things they miss when they live their home countries behind them. And for Americans here in the UK, the lack of Target, ranch dressing and Thanksgiving parties can be a huge loss.
However, there are some benefits to flying across the pond too. In fact, one American has listed the five aspects of life that are "better" now she's in the UK. Brianna Morton, who has been in Blighty since 2022, outlined the positive changes in a video posted with her 60,000 TikTok followers. You can check them all out below...
Brianna said there's "no contest" when it comes to which country does chocolate the best and you just can't beat Cadbury's!
She joked Hersheys "tastes like regret", before adding: "UK chocolate has more milk content than most US chocolate, and I can definitely taste the difference".
While the transport system in the UK is "not perfect", Brianna revealed it's much "more accessible" than you'll find in most of America.
She added: "Because in the US everything is so spread out, it's almost mandatory to have a car, unless you're in the big cities like New York City or something, you have options there, but for the rest of the US it's necessary to have a car."
We're also super lucky to have the NHS here in the UK.
The expat quipped: "You probably have to get a second mortgage or remortgage your house just because you've got a broken leg [in the US]. And don't get me started on how much it costs to have a baby in the US."
With the rest of Europe on our doorstep, visiting plenty of different countries and experiencing new cultures is a breeze.
Travel fan Brianna said there are "so many more options" and it's "so much more cheaper" to explore than in the US, which is a big win.
Brianna is a big fan of all the old buildings, too. She added: "There's castles, there's cathedrals, there's cobblestones, oh I love it.
"There's the medieval times and I think it's hilarious because the buildings in America that are like 200 years old are so historic, but that's a modern building here in the UK."
