Even if you've been living under a rock you've probably heard of the Coldplay kiss cam 'couple' scandal. The viral clip ousted an affair between CEO Andy Byron and his HR Chief, Kristin Cabot, which has dominated global headlines since it was posted by an eagle-eyed fan attending the concert in Boston, Massachusetts, last week.

The now ex-Astronomer CEO's canoodling with his colleague who are both married to other people was beamed live onto the stadium jumbotron before the pair turned away in horror after being caught red-handed.

But, while most people believe that cheating comes with no excuses could there be someone, or something, else to blame for unveiling the supposed insatiable chemistry between the internets 'most infamous' friends?

Well, Psychic Antonella, of Psychic Chat and Astrologer Heather Roan Robbins, M.Th claims Mercury retrograde might have played a naughty part in the scandal.

Scientifically, Mercury Retrograde is deemed as an optical illusion where the planet appears to move in the opposite direction than it usually does. However, astrologers believe that this quarterly phenomenon actually toys with our lives on earth including those who are having an affair at a Coldplay concert.

Astrologer Antonella, from online psychic reading provider Psychic Chat, explained: "Mercury retrograde often pulls hidden truths to the surface.

"When it moves through a bold sign like Leo, which rules the heart and is closely linked to romance, it can stir up drama in relationships. Misunderstandings become more likely, secrets can slip out, and emotions tend to run high.

For couples, its a time when communication can easily break down, leading to arguments or revelations. If there are cracks in a relationship, Mercury retrograde has a way of exposing them.

"It doesnt always cause the problem, but it certainly shines a light on whats already been bubbling under the surface."

Mercury is currently in retrograde until August 11, having started on July 17 the day the kiss started to go viral all over social media and the news.

It is believed that when Mercury is in this position it can have effects on how we communicate and interaction with technology.

That's why this time period usually carries a bad reputation, with astrologers and Zodiac lovers putting it down as the cause of miscommunications, tech glitches and general life drama.

As the planet is perceived to be 'going backwards', our relationship with the above factors can seem to be out of whack.

And Astrologer Heather Roan Robbins believes this could be why 'trickster' planet Mercury could have unveiled the affair on such a huge scale.

The astrologer shared: "Mercury is a trickster, and mishaps can reveal lies or bad intentions. Pay attention, because slapstick and accidents occur when we hurry or get distracted.

"Respect the check engine light in the car, and track car keys and important paperwork carefully. If an argument begins, check for misunderstandings and try to delay long-term decisions.

"If you need to buy a phone or car, instruments of communication and transportation, wait if possible, and if not, track receipts and insurance.

"It's not a great time to initiate but make sure to follow through on whats already begun."

So, if you're planning on having an affair and taking your side-piece to a concert then you might want to brace yourself for the powerful strings that Mercury retrograde can pull.

Regardless of what you plan to do between now and August 11, Heather urged that you must consider the seven 'RE' rules of astrology. This means you'll be well equipped if any life outliers are thrown your way....

Heather concluded: "Mercury retrograde is not something to be afraid of, it's something to use wisely, the old astrological adage is anything that begins RE, remember, re-edit, rebuild, rediscover, return, revisit, and reconnect, all work well under Mercury retrograde.

"Mercury retrograde gives us a chance to review the past. Review wonderful moments, remember personal victories, visit dear familiar places.

"Step out of a tight schedule and take a summer vacation. Just confirm all reservations and schedules, prioritize safety, take a good book, and make the most of any delay."

"Introspection is a powerful Mercury retrograde pastime, but make a conscious effort to get out of your own perspective and into others for breadth before coming to conclusions."
