The Daily Star: News with a Wink

'I filmed man checking me out at the gym but people say I'm the one in wrong'

Fitness buff Jacinta Robinson was convinced a guy was ogling her working out in the gym but probably didn't expect to get such a furious reaction from people on TikTok

Nadia Sawalha posts hilarious parody of gym fitness video

A woman accused a bloke of "checking her out" at the gym but was met with backlash.

Jacinta Robinson was recording her stretches for her post-gym recovery while out in public. She captured the moment she bent over with a dumbbell in her hand, while a man walked past in the background.

Then the influencer, from Brisbane City, Australia, posted the clip online. She seemed to be accusing the bloke of leering at her even though this wasn't evidenced in her footage.

In the video, which has gained more than 101,000 views, she said: "Busted! I caught this guy checking me out in the gym." She then posted the clip online to her 25,000 followers, with the clip of him slowed down and zoomed in.

The clip sparked a heated debate on TikTok, where it garnered more than 2,000 comments. People flocked to the comments section to tell her off for recording someone without permission and don't see anything wrong with the chap's actions either.

A viewer wrote: "He most likely thought "What the hell is she doing?," as another commented: "Time gyms start banning filming, will solve all these entitled Barbies' issues."

The influencer was also slammed by body-builder Joey Swoll, who accused her of slowing down the clip. He responded: "Wow, you really busted him so much that you had to slow the video down to make it seem as if he looked at you longer than he did.

"There is a big difference between staring at someone, checking them out, and simply looking at someone. As you walk past them. You're standing on a bench doing an awkward stretch you don't see every day in the gym, and he looks at you as he walks by.

"That's normal. Anyone would do that. Not to mention you have an entire film production set up, which means you're okay filming this to post online for the entire internet to see, but it bothers you that someone looks at you for a literal half-second. Seriously?

"And the worst part? You're a coach and a personal trainer, and you don't know better than to treat people this way at the gym You owe that man an apology, and if you don't, that gym should kick your ass out. You need to do better. Mind your own business."
