Every now and then, people experience problems with their neighbours, and sometimes things can get so bad that they begin to plot revenge. One man admitted he did just that due to the fact that he reportedly had an ongoing problem with a neighbour from hell.

The anonymous man took to Reddit to explain what allegedly happened, and it's fair to say it got a lot of people talking. He grew fed up of his neighbour's dog barking every day, and he was really tired of the situation that started impacting his life in his own property every single day, so he decided to leap into action.

It's not the first time a story of this kind has been shared either. Previously, someone else got revenge on a neighbour who kept blocking her driveway.

He explained: "A neighbour about three houses away had a dog that it kept chained up outside during the day. When he left the house, the dog would begin barking and not stop for hours at a time.

"It had one of those high-pitched whiny barks and, working from home, I found it impossible to concentrate. After a couple of days of this, I walked around to see what the situation was.

"Saw the dog chained up and looking stressed. I dropped a note in the letterbox just to say I was stressed about the dog and did they realise it sat in the backyard barking all day? No change.

"So I went around to see if I could catch the neighbour, which I did as he was driving out of his driveway. I talked to him about the dog and he said 'that's just what dogs do' and, when I protested, he told me to 'f*** off'.

"Okay, mate. Let's see. So I got my beach fishing rod, removed the hook but left the two large lead sinkers on. At about 2am on Friday night, I walked down and stood behind his side fence (which backed on to bushland).

"I then cast my beach rod so the sinker hit the top of their corrugated iron roof and rattled down. The noise would have been deafening inside that house.

"I reeled the sinkers back in and then recast them again about 10 minutes later. He eventually came out the front and started walking around with his outdoor lights on. I waited for him to go back to bed and I did it again."

He explained the neighbour came out again, but this time he walked back to his house. He also left another note in his letterbox informing him he would be "repeating this on random nights until his dog stopped barking".

Since then, it appears the dog has stopped barking. Naturally, it's not advised anyone do this. If you experience such an issue, you should try and talk to your neighbour, and then contact a local authority for help to aid the issue if all else fails.

Nonetheless, people did find the story pretty entertaining. In fact, many couldn't believe he took matters into his own hands.

One person said: "Love this. If a dog is barking its head off then its in distress."

Another added: "I would have called animal control." To this, the man replied: "Reported to the local council and RSPCA."

A third wrote: "Results." Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "You are the king."
