Caroline Flack's ex-boyfriend has broken his silence following a documentary about her death.
Lewis Burton has made a rare statement about the former X Factor host following the release of a Caroline Flack: Search For The Truth, a Disney+ documentary about her death.
Burton has addressed the situation and took to Instagram to "clarify the situation". Lewis stated: "Out of respect, I've chosen to remain silent. However, the false accusations and online abuse directed toward me and my family has gone too far."
"I had hoped it would never come to this, but now I have no choice but to clarify the situation and share the truth."
Lewis does not appear in the documentary and the director stated at a media screening that Lewis was approached several times but declined to participate, reports the Mirror.
Some of Lewis' comments are included in the documentary via quotes picked up on the police body cam on the night he and Caroline had a dispute in December 2019.
Caroline, a London-born presenter who grew up in Norfolk, sadly took her own life in February 2020 at the age of 40.
Flack began her career on the comedy show Bo' Selecta back in 2002 and went on to have a successful presenting career, including stints on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and The Xtra Factor.
She was best known for winning Strictly Come Dancing back in 2014, for presenting The X Factor alongside Dermot O'Leary and for hosting Love Island for five series.
