Reality TV show winner and MTV star 'found dead at home' aged 44 as probe launched

MTV star Tyler Duckworth has died at the age of just 44. He won MTV's The Challenge twice and joined the cast of The Real World: Key West back in 2006.

The TV star was reportedly found dead in the bathroom of his North Dakota home and died on Tuesday (August 11) just before noon. Authorities told People magazine that officers were sent to Tyler's residence on Tuesday when a neighbour reported water coming through the ceiling from his apartment.

Police have told the outlet that there "doesn't appear to be any signs of foul play or suspicious death" and that an invsestigation into the cause of death is underway.

Tyler's mum, Toni, has also confirmed the star's death in a post on Facebook. She wrote: "My son, Tyler, passed away earlier this week. Cause of death has yet to be determined," adding that she would share more details about his death when she gets them.

Last month, on July 31, Tyler attended a fan event in Minneapolis alongside his fellow MTV stars such as Tina Barta, Rachel Robinson, Mark Long and Brad Fiorenza. He wrote on Instagram on August 2: "So proud to represent my hometown of Minneapolis along with these other challenge legends.

Tyler joined MTV's The Real World: Key West in 2006. He proceeded to appear on six seasons of The Challenge, winning the Cuuthroat series in 2010 and Rivals in 2011.

He returned to the popular franchise for All Stars 2 in 2021, where he reached the sixth week of the competition.

Tyler had been working as a teacher at a local middle school in recent years, and had moved from West Hollywood to North Dakota.
