Strictly Come Dancing stars James and Ola Jordan have split after 22 years of marriage.
The professional dancers tied the knot in 2003 and joined the hit BBC One show three years later, becoming one of Strictly's most loved-up couples. The pair, who welcomed daughter Ella in 2020, decided to trial a separation "some time ago" and have now decided to part ways for good.
James and Ola's friend and manager Vickie White has confirmed the news to Daily Star. She said in a statement: "It is with great sadness that I can confirm that James and Ola began a trial separation some time ago.
"Their shared priority remains co-parenting their daughter, Ella, and they are committed to putting her wellbeing first. They would greatly appreciate your understanding as they navigate this difficult time."
A source told The Sun: "Its been a huge shock to their friends and family because they always seemed like such a solid couple. But they know in the long run it is the right decision.
"They have been together for almost 30 years and while they love and care for each other, things have changed. James hasnt been in a good place for quite a while now and things came to a head recently.
"Theyve had some open and honest discussions about their future over the past few months and have now decided that the best option is for them to separate." The source said that Ola has taken off her engagement ring and that their focus remains looking after Ella together.
James, 48, and Ola, 43, began dating in 1999 and were due to celebrate their 23rd wedding anniversary in October. Ola's last social media post featuring James was in April of last year.
James left Strictly in 2013, having turned down a lesser role that would have involved him missing out on a celebrity partner. Ola left the show two years later.
The couple had been open about the ups and downs in their relationship over the years. They welcomed Ella in 2020 via IVF following a three-year fertility battle.
