Strictly pro sensationally quits live tour after 'axe' from show as statement released

Strictly Come Dancing star Michelle Tsiakkas has dramatically dropped out of the show's live tour following reports she's been axed from the BBC One show along with other pros

Michelle Tsiakkas has quit the Strictly Professionals tour following reports she's been axed from the BBC show. The tour said they were "disappointed" but "respect" her decision to not take part.

It's said several of the show's pro dancers have been axed from Strictly. Michelle is said to be facing the axe as well as Nadiya Bychkova, Luba Mushtuk, Gorka Marquez and Karen Hauer who has reportedly already been told she's not being kept on for another series.

A statement from the Strictly tour's official Instagram account read: "Michelle Tsiakkas has decided not to take part in Strictly The Professionals 2026 Tour. We are naturally disappointed but respect her decision and wish her every success for the future...

"We look forward to starting the tour rehearsals early next month with Julian, Vito, Neil, Gorka, Lauren, Jowita, Luba, Alexis, Kai and Nancy." Daily Star has previously contacted representatives rumoured to be leaving Strictly.

The live tour is due to kick off in April and travel across the UK, with dates at venues such as London's Palladium and Blackpool's Opera House. Six more dates were added due to "phenomenal demand".

Michelle joined Strictly as a pro back in 2022. She got her first and only celebrity dance partner in 2024, when she was paired up with EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick.

A description for the tour reads: "Take 10 world-class professional dancers from the hit TV series Strictly Come Dancing, a sensational live band, and powerhouse vocalists. Add show-stopping choreography, dazzling costumes, and a stunning set.

"Finish with a killer soundtrack and suddenly every move, every beat, every shimmer of sequins pulls you into the heart of the action, creating the ultimate night out.

"Strictly The Professionals is a high-energy production which takes the glitz and glamour of BBC Ones hugely-popular Strictly Come Dancing to dazzling new heights. With years of experience and undeniable chemistry, these fan-favourite professional dancers, all from the latest series, will light up the stage as they perform in some of the UKs most iconic venues."
