The Voice winner Kendji Girac is fighting for his life after being shot in the chest by a gunman in an attack in France.
Girac is best known for starring in The Voice France back in 2014 and is currently seriously injured after he was fired at and rushed to hospital. A source has told The Sun: "He was at a travellers' camp where he was wounded by a firearm. Gendarmes were alerted at around 5:30am and when they arrived, they were confronted by around 20 people who refused to communicate any information."

The insider continued: "The emergency service meanwhile evacuated a seriously wounded man who had been shot in the chest and he was rushed to hospital." Kendji was taken to the University Hospital in Bordeaux and medical professionals are doing all they can to keep him alive.
It has been reported that his medical condition is "life-threatening" and it is not known whether the singer was the target of the attack, which took place in the early hours of Monday 22 April 2024.
The Sun reported: "He was on his way back from a camp in Biscarrosse when he was wounded by a rampaging gunman in the early hours of Monday morning." The publication have also said that public prosecutor of Mont-de-Marsan Olivier Janson announced that "an investigation is open into the attack" and that police were "seen searching the camp".
Throughout his singing career Girac has collaborated with many famous faces, most notably with Mika and French artists Vianney and Florent Pagny. Since his time on The Voice France, Girac has released five albums and back in January 2021 he welcomed a daughter.
Back in 2013, Girac posted a YouTube video of himself singing Bella, which went viral before he found himself on The Voice France's third series. The singer took him the crown with more than 51 per cent of votes in the show's finale.
He was part of team Mika on the competition show and the singer was also the only person that turned around during Girac's blind audition. Throughout the series, Kendji performed classic hits such as Hotel California by The Eagles and Mad World by Tears for Fears.
Back in 2020, Girac joined the cast of The Voice Kids France and became the first French former contestant to join the panel of the franchise.
