Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa are an 'illusion of love' as true feelings 'exposed'

Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa's relationship may be more than meets the eye.

Relationship expert Giovanna Smith spoke exclusively to Daily Star on behalf of PerfectFusions after analysing the former Celebrity Big Brother stars and shared her opinion on their romance.

She told us: "When a bond is formed in a highly artificial and emotionally heightened environment, like the Celebrity Big Brother house, it can create the illusion of deep intimacy."

"The reality is any relationship that begins in such an unnatural setting is at risk of developing into something equally ungrounded, often fizzling out once its exposed to the normal rhythms of everyday life."

"In the case of JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes, what were seeing may be less about love and more about timing, vulnerability, and emotional projection."

Giovanna pointed out that JoJo is "just 22" and "still very much in the process of discovering who she is, grappling with being both a public figure and "a woman navigating her sexuality, adulthood and identity," which is "natural".

However, her bond with Chris may not be, as it appears to have happened "so quickly and intensely" - the former Dance Moms star has even expressed that she wants her future children to be like him. Giovanna reckons this "suggests a depth of emotional investment that might be more about comfort and emotional need than true compatibility."

Former Love Island star Chris is 10 years older than JoJo and has previously said he is "obsessed" and wants to marry her, which Giovanna said are "not typically grounded expressions of enduring love".

"Obsession is not love. True love takes time, resilience, and the ability to withstand lifes inevitable challenges outside of a curated environment. What we may be witnessing is two people, each likely meeting an emotional need the other is currently missing."

"For JoJo, perhaps its safety, validatio or being genuinely seen. For Chris, perhaps its adoration, purpose or emotional connection. Those things matter, but they are not enough on their own to sustain a long-term, healthy relationship."

Giovanna ended by noting: "Ultimately, only time will tell but when obsession is mistaken for love and when emotional vulnerability is mistaken for compatibility, the outcome is often disappointment."

However, she also assured that it is natural for people in their twenties to "go with the flow" and JoJo is "exploring, feeling things deeply and making impulsive emotional choices can be part of discovering who she is."

"That said, when relationships start under such emotionally intense circumstances, like inside a reality TV house, and move at lightning speed, its worth gently encouraging a bit of perspective."

So, this isnt about warning JoJo off love or connection. Its about asking: 'Is this connection rooted in something real, or is it a response to the heightened emotions of the moment?' At 22, asking that question is empowering, not restrictive."
