A 16-year-old girl and two boys aged 14 and 15 were being questioned by detectives over the death of a man in his 40s who was assaulted during an altercation in a seaside village.
The incident happened in Leysdown-on-Sea on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, at 7pm on Sunday.
Police said the victim suffered serious injuries after trouble flared among a small group of people.
An air ambulance was scrambled but the man - who has not been named - was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was very sad and solemn.
There were a lot of people up there watching. Today weve come up here to pay our respects and lay some flowers.
Anton Jasnu, who owns a nearby shop, said he ran out to see if he could help when he saw someone receiving CPR on the beach of the village which has a population of around 1,000.
An eyewitness said there were about 100 bystanders when police arrived.
I saw the helicopter landing and a lot of police personnel trying to resuscitate someone, he said.
A police cordon was set up in a clearing behind the beach as officers deployed sniffer dogs and a drone.

Officers yesterday used a transporter to remove a silver VW Golf from the car park of the nearby The Warden Bay pub.
The bar nearly lost its licence in 2022 after a man suffered a serious head injury in an assault at a tribute music festival.
Police called for its operating status to be reviewed but it was allowed to stay open after a management change.
The murder scene lies around a mile from the Priory Hill Holiday Park where ex-EastEnders star Danny, 48, and his former Love Island champion daughter Dani, 29, have been filming a new TV show from the team behind Clarksons Farm.
