Denise van Outen is plotting an unlikely collaboration with Adele, but not on the microphone...from the sofa.
The TV star Denise is back gracing TV screens on Celebrity Gogglebox with old telly pal Johnny Vaughan. Over the years she has been on the Channel 4 show numerous times with an ex boyfriend and Blue star Duncan James. She'd love to do it again but maybe with a superstar singer - Adele. Denise told the Daily Star on behalf of Sky Vegas: I think Adele would be really funny on Gogglebox.
"Shes just really funny, and I reckon shed be good fun to sit and watch lots of TV shows with. I think shed be very, very funny.
Not only is Denise a fan of Adele, the two run in similar social circles, and they're both singers. In fact Denise recently returned to pop music. Does she regret not coming back sooner?
She replied: I wish I had done more of it [music]. However, I was so focused on my TV career, and Ive always been really lucky to be very busy. My diary never really allowed me to have a dual career because, if youre going to be a singer, theres a lot of touring and travel involved, and I was always filming.
Last year she released A Bit of Me a collection of intimate ballad interpretations of classics like George Michael's A Different Corner and Brother Beyond's The Harder I Try, alongside a duet with Duncan James.
I wouldnt say its a regret, but I do wish I had done more of it," she told the Star. "However, its never too late. Ive recorded an album, I did a tour this year, and I loved it. I think its something that has to happen at the right time in your life."
The other stumbling block, Adele knows a lot about too, was starting a family just when Denise could've started a major pop carer.
She added: "When I became a mum, I never wanted to leave my daughter for long periods of time when she was younger, so I had to choose my work around my family life. There was a good reason why I stepped back from it, but now feels like the right time.
