'Devastated' ITV star releases statement as 1.7m home 'wrecked' by robbers

ITV star Amy Childs has confirmed that her Essex mansion was "burgled" while she and her family were away on holiday, and that she's still processing what happened

Amy Childs has spoken out after her 1.7m Essex mansion was "ransacked" by robbers while she was on holiday.


The 36-year-old TOWIE star was said to be "absolutely heartbroken" when she returned from the family trip to find her five-bedrroom property had been "totally wrecked". She has now reassured followers that her family are all safe.


She took to Instagram with a statement which read: ""Many of you have reached out after hearing what happened, so I just wanted to say thank you. Unfortunately, our home was burgled while we were away.

"Were devastated, but so thankful that no one was in the house and everyone is safe. Were taking some time to process everything and really appreciate all of your messages."


Amy lives in the mansion with her husband Billy Delbosq and four kids. The pair share their twins Billy and Milly, and Amy has Polly and Ritchie from past relationships.

Just days before the terrible incident, Amy had shared snaps from her holiday, including a pic of her kissing Billy. the TOWIE star told followers that her family - including her kids - were having the best time.


Amy wrote: "Having the most Beautiful time with the Family making memories that will last forever. Polly and Milly are totally inseparable, seeing this makes me so I wished I had a sister growing up got Wills instead (only joking) the bond is unbreakable."

Amy was reportedly left "shaken" after the break-in. A source told The Sun: "Amy and her family returned from holiday to find that thieves had broken into her home and completely trashed the place. Shes absolutely heartbroken.


"She is just grateful that she and the kids were away when it happened, because it would have been terrifying if they had been there when the burglars came. She cant even bear to think about that but its still left her shaken."

The source added that the reality star isn't sure exactly what's been taken as the place is "totally wrecked" and that police are at the property with forensics.


Amy moved into her five-bedroom mansion in May 2024 and posts regular updates for her followers on social media. The house includes a cinema room, a wine cellar and a sprawling garden.

Amy appeared in the first two series of TOWIE before landing her own spin-off show It's All About Amy. She went on Celebrity Big Brother in 2011 and returned to TOWIE in 2020.
