Disney fans 'gobsmacked' to find out they've been quoting films wrong their whole lives

A woman has taken to social media to claim that people have been living in a world of 'Mandela Effects' - where they have been quoting Disney films wrong their entire lives

Disney buffs, brace yourselves! You might think you know your fave animated flicks inside out, but one social media user is about to burst your bubble.

Imagine finding out those famous movie lines you've been quoting are actually all wrong, or the characters don't look quite how you recall?

That's exactly what happened to a bunch of fans who were left with their jaws on the floor after a social media user took it upon herself to debunk some major "Mandela Effects" that have been tripping people up. For those not in the know, a Mandela Effect is when a whole load of folks remember something one way, but turns out it's not quite right like a mass memory blunder.

It gets its name from when loads of people thought Nelson Mandela had kicked the bucket way before he actually did. And now Ashley Ridgely-Smith, aka @ashley.entangled, has claimed the bizarre phenomenon has affected the way we all remember our childhood favourites.

Alice in Wonderland

First up on her myth-busting spree was Alice in Wonderland you know, the story where young Alice takes a tumble down a rabbit hole and ends up in a wacky world where nothing makes sense. This place is chock-full of quirky characters like the Mad Hatter and those twin troublemakers Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dee.

You've got magical munchies that can make you grow or shrink, and a Cheshire Cat that can vanish into thin air. Loads of people swear blind the cat's catchphrase is "we're all mad here".

However, if you recall it this way, you're mistaken. Ashley clarified in her TikTok video that the actual line is "most everyone is mad here", pointing out that the commonly remembered line doesn't appear in the film at all.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves holds a special place in many hearts, with the Hi-Ho song, performed by the dwarves, being one of the most memorable tunes from the film. Yet, one of these so-called "Mandela Effects" is embedded within this song.

In the viral clip, which has amassed over 87,000 likes, she revealed: "We all know the Hi-Ho song, but do we really? Many people remember the line from the song: "hi-ho, hi-ho. It's off to work we go.

"But what if I told you that in the current reality that we're living in. That was never said. The line in our current reality is hi ho, hi ho. 'It's home from work. We go.' They never, ever said it's off to work. We go in the current reality that we're living in."

Another instance from Snow White involves the scene where the wicked Queen converses with her magic mirror. Most remember her saying "Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all".

However, the actual line is "Magic Mirror", leaving fans gobsmacked. One user commented: "The Mandela effect is just the universe gaslighting us," while another quipped: "Why can't the Mandela effect be helpful...like everyone remembers me as being poor..but current reality I am a billionaire."

Tinkerbell's Intro

Disney fans are left scratching their heads after discovering that the iconic Tinkerbell intro, where she flies by and sprinkles magic on the Walt Disney logo, never actually existed. Instead, a shooting star is seen flying over the castle, with no sign of the beloved fairy from Peter Pan.

"If you remember seeing Tinkerbell, you're not from this reality," joked Ashley. However, some fans have pointed out that Tinkerbell's intro was featured in Disney's Fast Play introduction.

Cruella De Vil

Ashley posed a question to her TikTok followers: "How do you remember her name being spelled? " She claims that some people recall it as "Cruella De Ville". However, it has always been spelled "De Vil".

Mickey Mouse

Mickey Mouse, arguably Walt Disney's most famous character, is also subject to debate. Everyone thinks they know what he looks like, but Ashley suggests otherwise.

In her list, she points out two contentious aspects of Mickey's appearance. She asked: "The first one being do you remember Mickey Mouse having suspenders or no suspenders? Turns out in our current reality, Mickey Mouse has never worn suspenders."

"So if you remember suspenders, you're not from here. And the other one is about Mickey Mouse having a tail or not. So do you remember Mickey Mouse having a tail, or do you remember Mickey Mouse having no tail? ".

"A lot of people say that they remember Mickey Mouse having no tail. But in the current reality that we're living in, Mickey Mouse has always had a tail. Even back to the Steamboat Willie days, this is a favourite for me."
