Comic-Con weekend was packed with A-list appearances as some of Hollywood's biggest names arrived in San Diego to celebrate the world's biggest pop culture convention.

From surprise Marvel announcements to stars stepping out in full costume, there was no shortage of talking points.

Ryan Reynolds delighted fans by appearing in costume as Deadpool, joking his way through Marvel's blockbuster Hall H presentation.

The actor's surprise appearance fuelled excitement as he playfully hinted there could still be more Deadpool adventures to come within the Marvel universe.

Ryan Gosling received one of the loudest reactions of the weekend after Marvel officially confirmed he will play Ghost Rider in a brand-new film due in 2028.

Shawn Levy will direct Ghost Rider, reuniting with Gosling after the pair previously worked together on Star Wars: Starfighter.

Robert Downey Jr. embraced his villainous new era by appearing as Doctor Doom during Marvel's spectacular Hall H presentation.

Chris Evans also joined the Marvel celebrations as excitement continued to build around the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.

Fans were treated to exclusive footage from Avengers: Doomsday, with Marvel teasing a huge showdown featuring Doctor Doom.

The blockbuster features a huge cast include Pedro Pascal, Rebecca Romijn, Florence Pugh, Chris Hemsowrth and more.

Another major reveal saw Black Panther 3 officially confirmed, with David Jonsson set to play T'Challa's son in the next chapter of the franchise.

Johnny Depp was also spotted embracing the Comic-Con spirit as he stepped out in costume during the weekend's celebrations.

Jessica Biel brought a touch of Hollywood glamour as she smiled for photographers while meeting fans.

She was attending to promote her latest film Matchbox The Movie, which also stars former professional wrestler John Cena.

Jamie Campbell Bower, best known for playing terrifying villain Vecna in Stranger Things, also made an appearance at the convention.

From Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool return to Ryan Gosling's Ghost Rider reveal, and a peek into the Avengers world, Comic-Con ended the weekend by giving fans plenty to look forward to over the next few years.
